How To Paint a Room Trim
The traditional way to paint a room trim is to select a colour that matches or co-ordinates with the existing colour scheme. More recently, however, it is becoming more popular for a rooms trim to enhance the decor rather than blend in, for example using a turquoise colour for the trim when the walls are grey and accessories are turquoise.

Also if you spray paint the fixture it ensures even coverage and the paint is less likely to run if applied in light spray coats.
Just by making some simple changes to your fixtures can make an amazing difference to the room and it need not cost you a lot of money. Just be sure you protect any areas you don't want painting with tape or cloth, prepare the surfaces properly to achieve the best finish and make sure you use the correct paints.
